1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Hat Films tips and subscription platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using this service.

2. Service Description

Our platform enables you to support Hat Films through two methods:

One-time tips: Send a one-off contribution with an optional message
Monthly subscriptions: Subscribe to a monthly tier to receive exclusive benefits including Discord roles, subscriber-only channels, and exclusive content

90% of all contributions go directly to Hat Films. The remaining 10% covers maintenance and hosting costs with a 1-year rollover fund to ensure platform stability. Any funds exceeding the 1-year operational reserve are donated to charity.

3. Account Requirements

3.1 Discord Authentication

To access subscription benefits, you must link your Discord account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord account and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.2 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this service. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to make payments.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Tips

All tips are processed through Stripe and are non-refundable
You can choose to send tips anonymously
Tips sent while not authenticated with Discord will not be linked to your account

4.2 Subscriptions

Subscriptions are billed monthly on the date you subscribe
Payment is processed automatically via Stripe at the beginning of each billing cycle
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage Subscription page
Cancelled subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period
No partial refunds are provided for cancelled subscriptions
Changing tiers will be prorated based on the remaining time in your billing cycle

4.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers. By using our service, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

5. Subscription Benefits

5.1 What You Get

Active subscribers receive:

Exclusive Discord role and badge
Access to subscriber-only Discord channels
Exclusive content and videos
Priority support from the Hat Films team

5.2 Benefits Provision

Subscription benefits are activated automatically within a few minutes of successful payment. Discord roles are managed by our bot and may take up to 15 minutes to sync.

5.3 Benefit Changes

Hat Films reserves the right to modify, add, or remove subscription benefits at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes. Continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance.

6. Discord Server Rules

To maintain access to subscriber benefits, you must:

Remain a member of the Hat Films Discord server
Follow all Discord server rules and community guidelines
Respect other community members and moderators

Violation of Discord server rules may result in the removal of your subscription benefits without refund, even if your subscription remains active.

7. Refund Policy

One-time tips: All tips are final and non-refundable. Tips are considered voluntary contributions to support Hat Films.

Subscriptions: Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, we may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis for:

Technical errors resulting in duplicate charges
Unauthorized charges reported within 7 days
Failure to deliver subscription benefits due to our error

8. Acceptable Use

When using our service, you agree NOT to:

Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to circumvent payment or authentication systems
Submit offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content in tip messages
Share or resell subscription benefits with non-subscribers
Use automated systems or bots to interact with the platform
Attempt to access or interfere with other users' accounts
Reverse engineer or exploit vulnerabilities in the platform

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, logos, trademarks, and materials on this platform are the property of Hat Films or used with permission. Subscriber-only content is provided for personal use only and may not be shared, redistributed, or used for commercial purposes without explicit permission.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. We reserve the right to:

Perform scheduled maintenance (with advance notice when possible)
Temporarily suspend the service for security or technical reasons
Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hat Films and its operators shall not be liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
Service interruptions or technical issues beyond our control
Third-party services (Discord, Stripe) or their actions

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the last 12 months.

12. Termination

By You: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage Subscription page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately without notice if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the service.

13. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute or complaint, please contact us first at support@hatfilms.co.uk so we can attempt to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve the issue, you agree to resolve disputes through binding arbitration or small claims court in the United Kingdom.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
